Enjoyed the character flavor captured in all of these and ended up using them in my Pokemon fangame. While I did not have trainer battles to really showcase the full size portraits they were good inspiration for a few individuals around the world and also made an appearance in the end credits.
The only real edits I made was adding another frame in the left/right walk-cycle by putting shadows on the backfoot.
It's actually intentional, even though it looks a bit odd if you focus on it when it's not in motion. This is how the original pokemon sprites worked as well. They probably didnt use a flipped side frame because it would look nearly identical to the other and removing frames from an animation actually makes a difference on the Game Boy that had very limited space to work with.
Either way i'll try to add the flipped frame soon!
I’m liking where you are going with this, what is your eventual direction for the series? I know you are making it in a way that it doesn’t mess with a Nintendo copyright, it wouldn’t help to have to use actual Nintendo Pokémon sprites with trainers and a world made by you though, does that mean you may eventually try your hand at actual Pokémon style monsters? Or is that something you plan to leave up to the developer to figure out? It seems like a huge undertaking but would be pretty cool.
I would love to make some pokemon style monsters some time but like you said that is a great undertaking. I might upload some free alternative pokémon sprites to be used in fan games though. So yeah it's really up to the developer what they want to use this for. Right now i'm not sure what the next step will be for this series so i'll keep expanding this pack and work a little more on the GB Oracles series.

Hello! I love these!
I was wondering if you did commissions for custom sprites like these :)
Hey, thanks for supporting me :)

OMG YOU RIGHT!
After watching a Pokémon Red walkthrough on YouTube you absolutely right! Every step uses the same sprite.
Don’t touch anything 😉
Good stuff
Thanks a lot :)
